*** FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ***

PHOENIX – AIIM 2001 info360 Conference – March 14, 2011 – During March 21-24 in Washington DC, thousands of technology professionals will meet to discuss new ways to capture, store, analyze, access and deliver enterprise information at the AIIM 2011 info360 Conference. On March 23, Steve Irons, president of DocSolid, and Michael Shannon, CIO of Dechert LLP, will contribute to the document scan capture discussion with a conference presentation titled, “From Scanarchy to Enterprise Scanning Best Practices.”

The conference session will center on the state of enterprise scan capture and how Dechert LLP, a law firm with offices throughout the United States, Europe and Asia, successfully trumped Scanarchy with a regimen of best practices and paper scanning technology. Discussion will include how to drive the adoption of scan capture technology within an enterprise, the hidden costs of paper retention, and how the Dechert law firm is getting results using scan capture best practices.

The session is scheduled for 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23 and is part of the conference’s Data Capture and Imaging Track.
“Every organization needs a productive, managed way to scan paper and make it part of its information system,” said DocSolid President Steve Irons. “But today they have a wide variety of MFPs and scanners deployed, with device logins and typing, proprietary methods, and non- standard procedures. Scanned documents can end up anywhere and everywhere or nowhere. In short, it’s Scanarchy. Mike’s presentation will show there are ways to combat Scanarchy, and win with a best practice approach to enterprise scan capture.”

“By nature, law firms are paper-intensive environments. I wanted to move Dechert away from that dependency by improving our scanning workflow and reducing short- and long-term costs associated with paper,” said Michael Shannon, CIO of Dechert. “I believe we developed a law firm best-practice approach for scanning workflow. Dechert is now scanning and filing up to 200,000 pages each month. And that number keeps growing as user adoption increases. We’re unifying our client records to include images, while achieving reduction of paper-related costs and improved business continuity.”

Irons and Shannon join a prestigious roster of presenters, including leading data capture and imaging experts from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Fannie Mae and JetBlue. The info360 Conference is sponsored by AIIM, a non-profit organization focused on helping users to understand the challenges associated with managing documents, content, records, and business processes.
