DocSolid Awarded Patent for KwikTag QC Module

QC module patent marks the company’s 9th patent, for quality control software to enable post-scan shredding

PHOENIX, AZ (May 14, 2015) – DocSolid, the leader in Paper2Digital solutions for the legal market, today announced the issuance of the company’s 9th patent for its KwikTag Legal module, KwikTag QC (Quality Control).  The QC module patent award further solidifies DocSolid’s thought leadership, marking a significant expansion of its unmatched Paper2Digital process.  DocSolid will showcase KwikTag Legal, including KwikTag QC, at booth #620 at the ALA Annual Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, May 17-21.

The costs and inefficiencies of paper records have long been an obvious strain on the law firm business model.  KwikTag Legal– an integrated scanning platform which manages related paper digitally– is powering the Paper2Digital transformation a leading law firms across the country.

Suzette Allaire, COO, Lindquist and Vennum, comments, “KwikTag QC gives us process closure, so that we can get rid of the paper after scanning.  KwikTag QC lets us assure that all documents have been properly scanned and stored, and identifies whether and how we will keep or destroy the documents after scanning. It’s a key piece in our less paper initiative.  Initially, the expected benefit was cost savings for managing paper. But going paperless improves our ability to respond quickly to clients, providing more efficient service. A true win-win.

KwikTag QC enables the last step for a reduced paper initiative, shredding, by adding quality control processes to a best practice, firm-wide scanning operation. The QC modules apply records retention-destruction-disposition policy for scanned paper under the auspices of a software-driven, auditable process. Each scanned document is reviewed for:

  • Affirming that the paper document has been scanned and captured to the DMS
  • Performing image quality review and page count verification
  • Applying the paper record’s disposition, regarding whether the paper should be:
    • Shredded per firm policy
    • Returned to the attorney, or
    • Retained in records

Steve Irons, president of DocSolid says, “The Paper2Digital transformation simply must happen across the legal industry, as the corporate markets have already been doing for years.  DocSolid is heads up and heads down on extending our solution platform to address the entire process, and this new patent shows our unique and advantageous approach. As DocSolid’s solutions gain momentum in the legal market, our customers know we are committed to continual innovation.  We are on the Paper2Digital journey with them.”
