DTI & DocSolid Announce Premier Partnership

Increased Technology Offerings for Facilities Management Clients

ATLANTA – January 29, 2013 – DTI, the nation’s largest private independent provider of e-discovery services, facilities management, and knowledge process outsourcing, announced today that it has become a DocSolid Premier Partner. DocSolid’s Premier Partners provide high-value services around the KwikTag Legal scan capture solution.

“This partnership provides DTI’s clients a proven solution for converting paper documents into searchable image information across a firm-wide platform for scan capture,” said Robert McAllister, vice president of DTI’s Facilities Management operations. “In addition to day-forward scanning for records management, it provides an efficiency return for firm staff as it relates to converting paper to electronic, with DTI using proven methodologies and staff to accomplish the firms document management goals.”

DocSolid’s scan capture solutions increase productivity and reduce operating costs by removing paper from your business process. Its patented process captures paper and integrates images with document management, records management, and business software.
Steve Irons, president of DocSolid, said, “At law firms using KwikTag Legal for enterprise scanning, we have several significant success stories with DTI, where DTI offloads the labor, logistics and audit controls. This model enables a paper-free law firm, and it’s a game-changer. Our DTI partnership recognizes a serious service provider for law firms ready to get serious about scanning.”

Michael Shannon, CIO of Dechert LLC, and a DTI client said, “Our utilization of the KwikTag solution by DTI’s onsite team, has scanned and filed an average of 200,000 pages per month-and this number is steadily increasing. The cost savings to store electronically rather than physically is huge.”

Iron Mountain Launches Solution to Help Law Firms Reduce Costs of Records Storage and Improve Access to Information

Leveraging offsite records storage facilities and document scanning, law firms can reduce operational costs, gain efficiency and improve client service

BOSTON (Jan. 30, 2013) – With law firms under pressure to control costs and improve client service, many are looking at how they store, manage and access their paper records to realize these savings and service gains. In response, Iron Mountain Incorporated (NYSE: IRM) today announced the Total Offsite Records Solution for law firms, combining offsite records storage and document scanning. With the solution, firms can regain office space and become more efficient users and managers of their records by moving them to an Iron Mountain facility for centralized storage, management and scanning. As a result, law firms can make smarter use of their real estate and enable attorneys to access information from desktops and mobile devices, improving their productivity and client responsiveness.

“Law firms all agree that ‘going digital’ will give them faster access to files and lower the cost of records storage and management,” said Brian McCauley, director of Information Governance and Matter Management at McDermott Will & Emery LLP. “There’s little consensus on the best way to go about doing it, however, and it’s hard for information governance professionals to ensure the firm is following a single set of rules for this process when the scanning isn’t centralized. Iron Mountain’s solution gives law firms the ability to standardize their digitization process by moving paper records offsite for secure storage and easier scanning. Firms should embrace strategies like this to go digital cost effectively, freeing up premium office space for adding attorneys and gaining better security and governance over their paper records.”

As reported in the July 15, 2012, edition of the Wall Street Journal, a number of law firms have begun to pursue strategies for optimizing their use of office space (one of their biggest fixed costs), prompting many to rethink the common practice of maintaining onsite file rooms and records personnel. To reduce these costs and reclaim onsite storage rooms for revenue-generating activities, many law firms are digitizing their paper – swapping hard copy for electronic records and making it easier for their attorneys to find and access information in the process. It’s a costly and time-consuming project that can fail to deliver the desired savings and productivity gains unless firms have policies for records retention and overall governance.
Iron Mountain’s Total Offsite Records Solution is comprised of two main pieces:

  • Dedicated Offsite Records Center – Law firms can move both active and inactive records to an Iron Mountain records center, freeing up office space for revenue-generating activities and allowing information managers for the firm to focus on more strategic governance activities. Additionally, law firms gain greater storage capacity; document security; and space for preparing and viewing scanned records than they have managing records on-premises.
  • Go Digital Smart – Iron Mountain designs a customized digitization strategy based on the law firm’s culture and best practices to ensure attorneys have quick and secure access to information. Plus, through a partnership with DocSolid, a leader in document scanning solutions for the legal market, firms can enter documents scanned by Iron Mountain directly into their existing document management system. This integration ensures records are properly indexed and accessible from anywhere.

“Like other organizations, law firms are looking for ways to control costs and adopt new operational strategies to run their business more efficiently,” said Matt Kivlin, director of product management, Legal Solutions for Iron Mountain. “Our Total Offsite Records Solution helps law firms to lower their records management costs and find additional efficiencies through digitization. Law firms not only gain an operational and performance edge; they also strengthen their ability to manage information. This ‘two-for- one benefit’ supports many firms’ efforts to go digital and advance records staff to information governance and compliance roles.”

DocSolid Expands into the Corporate Legal Market with Addition of Key New Clients

2018-04-04T23:08:52-07:00August 23rd, 2012|Press Releases|

*** FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ***

DocSolid Expands into the Corporate Legal Market with Addition of Key New Clients

PHOENIX – Aug. 22, 2012 DocSolid, a leader in document scanning solutions for the legal market, today announced that its enterprise scanning solution KwikTag Legal has been implemented in both Prudential and Barclays UK corporate legal departments. These new implementations underscore the fact that law departments are addressing the need to bring efficiency, cost savings and the right technology to improve internal scanning and paper management initiatives.

“Timing is good to bring KwikTag Legal to the corporate legal market because they are tightening down their operations to reduce expenses and improve process,” said Steve Irons, president of DocSolid. “The cost, risk and drag of paper records impede the mission of corporate law, and simplistic, copier-based scanning cannot address their serious scan capture needs. Integration with the document management system, volume scanning, quality OCR, process integrity, paper retirement and security drive the requirements for an enterprise class scanning solution. Corporate law is a big, ready market for DocSolid’s KwikTag Legal solution.”

At Prudential, attorneys and staff can use KwikTag Legal for productive self-scanning of small jobs directly into the Autonomy iManage Document Management System (DMS). Larger scan jobs can be sent to the office services center, which is managed by Ricoh. KwikTag’s patented tagging method means each job sent to Ricoh office services is bar coded for automatic scan workflow processing. The Ricoh staff provides the labor and expertise to manage centralized KwikTag Legal operations. Large individual jobs, backfile conversions, and post-scan paper retirement are services that can be absorbed by the Ricoh staff.

KwikTag Legal is an enterprise scan capture solution that combines simplicity and productivity for receiving paper documents, profiling, scanning, storing and retrieving images. It profiles paper documents directly from existing DMS screens and workflows, and scans from any device directly to existing DMS folders. KwikTag Legal has automatic quality and process integrity controls for enterprise use, and it makes it easy for users to hand-off scan jobs to the facilities management service provider or clerical staff.

For more information about KwikTag Legal, please contact sales@docsolid.com or visit https://www.docsolid.com.

This has marked a year of growth for DocSolid. The company launched KwikTag Legal in January, kicked off a five-month-long series of roadshows for the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) in February, and announced new partnerships with facilities management companies in June. DocSolid will be exhibiting at the annual ILTA conference and Irons will be moderating a session there titled “Scan with a Plan: Digitizing Content for Your ECM System” on Aug. 30 at 10:30 a.m. ET.

DocSolid Partnership with Worldox Increases Client Base

*** FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ***

DocSolid Partnership with Worldox Increases Client Base

PHOENIX – Aug. 22, 2012 DocSolid, a leader in document scanning solutions for the legal market, today announced that its partnership with Worldox/World Software Corporation has yielded two new clients for the company: Edward M Bernstein & Associates and Olinsky Law Group. The new clients speak to the fact that mid-sized law firms are rapidly maturing in their use of document management systems (DMS), which amplifies the need to add integrated document scanning. DocSolid is packaging its KwikTag Legal solution to fit the needs of these law firms.

According to Steve Irons, president of DocSolid, AmLaw 200 firms have already entrenched their use of document management systems and are now addressing DMS-integrated scanning for the enterprise. This trend is extending into mid-sized and smaller law firms as well.

“For any law firm that has realized the efficiencies of well-adopted document management, solidifying and extending that investment is a focus,” said Irons. “It’s crazy to have paper files sitting outside the DMS, so scanning active paper, integrated with the electronic matter, is an obvious and needed next step. Top-tier Worldox customers are no exception. They want the most productive, integrated and simple way to scan paper to the related Worldox matters.”

“Our clients that have embraced DocSolid’s KwikTag Legal are focused on creating efficient processes throughout their firms,” said Ray Zwiefelhofer, president of World Software. “Enterprise scanning is the next challenge to law firm operations that is now being uncovered and addressed.”

KwikTag Legal is an enterprise scan capture solution that combines simplicity and productivity for receiving paper documents, profiling, scanning, storing and retrieving images. For practices that have a document management system, KwikTag Legal is used to profile and scan into it directly from the document management screens. KwikTag Legal also integrates capture and retrieval directly into accounting software and other software used in legal operations. To learn more about KwikTag Legal, visit https://www.docsolid.com/solutions/law-firms.

This latest accomplishment marks a year of distinction for DocSolid, which includes a coast-to-coast roadshow for the International Legal Technology Association, new partnerships with facilities management companies including Océ, Ricoh, DTI, Pitney Bowes, and GLC Business Services, and the expansion of the company’s sales leadership.

DocSolid and the International Legal Technology Association Fight Scanarchy in Northern California

2018-11-17T19:03:23-07:00October 10th, 2011|Press Releases|

*** FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ***

Roadshows in S(c)an Francisco and Silicon Valley to share best practices to defeat unmanaged scanning

PHOENIX – Oct. 3, 2011 – DocSolid, a leader in document scanning solutions for the legal market, and the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) today announced additional dates for their educational roadshows focused on defeating Scanarchy in a legal organization. Titled “From Scanarchy to Best Practice Enterprise Scanning,” the roadshows will continue in San Francisco on October 11 and Silicon Valley on October 12.

The unmanaged scanning of paper documents throughout an enterprise often results in high costs and low efficiency. Scanarchy can be easily defeated, though, with the application of paper capture best practices. Steve Irons, president of DocSolid and founder of three successful scanning providers, will share these best practices as well as examples of how AmLaw 200 law firms have implemented and benefited from these practices.

All legal IT professionals are invited to attend and there is no charge for registration.

These upcoming seminars continue DocSolid’s nationwide roadshow with ILTA, which has also hit Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Washington, D.C., New York and Phoenix earlier this year.

Register for the seminars now by visiting http://www.iltanet.org/MainMenuCategory/Meetings/Seminars.aspx
